Github Student Developer Pack Explained

Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Azure is offering free access to 25+ Microsoft Azure cloud services plus $100 in Azure credit.

Digitalocean

Digitalocean is a cloud hosting platform. They are providing $50 credit for 12 months. Their smallest VM instance costs $5/month, so you can use their service continuously for 10 months

Canva

Canva is a free graphic design platform that's great for making invitations, business cards, Instagram posts, and more. Canva's wide array of features allow you to edit photos without extensive photo editing knowledge or experience.

Namecheap is offering free 1 year registration on a .me domain with an SSL certificate.

Datacamp

Datacamp has many courses and tracks to learn Python, SQL & Data Science at your own pace. They are offering 3 month free subscription.

Jetbrains & Bootstrap Studio

Jetbrains offering a free subscription to all their IDEs such as PyCharm, IntelliJ IDEA, etc. Bootstrap Studio, which is a powerful desktop app for creating responsive websites using the Bootstrap framework is also offering a free subscription to students.

What are the requirements?

Be currently enrolled in a degree or diploma granting course of study such as a high school, secondary school, college, university, homeschool, or similar educational institution.
Have a verifiable school-issued email address or upload documents that prove your current student status.
Have a GitHub user account.
Be at least 13 years old.

How do I get this pack?

Visit Github Education.
Sign in with your Github Account by clicking 'Sign-in' in the top-right corner.
Click 'Get pack' in the top-right corner.

You are then required to fill a form.
"What e-mail address do you use for school?"

If you have a school-issued email, select (or add it). Please note that email addresses must be verified and any addresses with plus signs (“+”) are not eligible.

Note: Selecting a school-issued email address gives you the best chance of a speedy review.

If you don’t have a school-issued email, follow the prompts to fill out additional information. You’re still eligible even if you only have a personal Gmail address, as long as you can provide alternative documentation to verify your current student status.

What is the name of your school?

This prompt is automatically filled out if you provided a valid student email. Note however that, if your school is not listed, then enter the full school name and continue. You will be asked to provide further information about your school on the next page.
