There’s no substitute for hands-on experience. But for most students, real world tools can be cost-prohibitive. That’s why Github created the GitHub Student Developer Pack with some of their partners and friends to give students free access to the best developer tools in one place so they can learn by doing.

Committed to students having access to the best real-world tools and training required to get started as developers, Github offers tools and training with the total value of more than $200k per student. Yes, $200,000. This pack offers you access to tools that’d cost as much as $200,000. And each offer is available to every student developer, anywhere that Github is available. Whether you’re building your first website, localizing your app for the global market, or even hardware hacking—the Pack provides you with the tools you need to be successful.

  • You are then required to fill a form.

  • "What e-mail address do you use for school?"

If you have a school-issued email, select (or add it). Please note that email addresses must be verified and any addresses with plus signs (“+”) are not eligible.

Note: Selecting a school-issued email address gives you the best chance of a speedy review.

If you don’t have a school-issued email, follow the prompts to fill out additional information. You’re still eligible even if you only have a personal Gmail address, as long as you can provide alternative documentation to verify your current student status.

  • What is the name of your school?

This prompt is automatically filled out if you provided a valid student email. Note however that, if your school is not listed, then enter the full school name and continue. You will be asked to provide further information about your school on the next page.
